Reflections for each Term

Term 1: Term 1 was a very exciting term and it is the first term of my Science journey in Hwa Chong. In this term, we did not do many experiments as we were new to the Lab and needed to be familiar with it before we could do any experiments. Thus the first term was used to build our basic foundation of the Lab so that we would be prepared for the future experiments in the Lab. After being orientated about the basics of Science and the Lab we then proceeded to the next topic which told us about measuring objects. I found this term rather easy and yet important. This is because if are not familiar with the different apparatus in the Lab we would not be able to carry out our experiment with efficiency as we would have to learn about them before we can do any experiments.

Term 2: Term 2 was a moderately challenging term as it was much harder than the first introductory term and thus I failed to grasp the concepts and theories behind the topics. As a result of my failure, I did not score as well as I did in the first term. This term really served as a wake-up call as I feel that I have not been putting up enough effort in Science as a result of overconfidence and focusing too much on other subjects and neglecting my Science.I feel that in order for me to do well in the next term, I just need to continue following the method that I have been using to study and put more time in, only then can I excel in my Science.

Term 3: Term 3 was an even more challenging term for me and again I found it very confusing as although I has studied extremely hard for this test after the wake-up call in the second test, I still did not score well.I also found the test of moderate difficulty and expected to do very well so when my Science results came out it was a big shock to me. This test made me review my study techniques and revise all the topics that were covered in Science. This term was again another big challenge for me and I look towards the next term with great uncertainty and very low confidence in my Science after the two consecutive failures in Science. This term served as my last chance and I lost so I hope that after this term I can really start to produce the results that I want and need in my EOY.
